Quick-Med Technologies Presenting at Prestigious SAWC/WHS Conference

GAINESVILLE, Florida, April 8, 2008 – Quick-Med Technologies, Inc. announced today that Bernd Liesenfeld, Ph.D, senior scientist at Quick-Med Technologies, will deliver a podium presentation at the prestigious annual Symposium on Advanced Wound Care and Wound Healing Society combined Conference (SAWC/WHS). Dr. Liesenfeld will present “Protease Inhibitors Prevent Microvesication in Sulfur Mustard Wounds on Human Skin Explants.” This paper, coauthored with M. Mol (TNO Laboratories, Netherlands) and G. Schultz (the University of Florida at Gainesville), summarizes research that demonstrates the Company's Ilomastat technology, a powerful matrix metalloprotease inhibitor, can suppress the primary blistering damage mechanism in a human tissue explant model after exposure to sulfur mustard, even when treatment occurred hours after exposure.

Additionally, the Company has announced that two poster abstracts have been accepted for presentation:

“Persistent Skin Sanitizer with Sustained Microbicidal Properties" - W. Toreki, D. Moore, B. Liesenfeld, J. Vella, G. Schultz, J. Olderman. and R. Carr; Quick-Med Technologies and the University of Florida at Gainesville. (Blue Ribbon Category)

“Absorbent Microbicidal Wound Dressing Material with Protease Inhibition Properties" - B. Liesenfeld, G. Schultz, J. Azeke, O. Moloye, W. Toreki, D. Moore, J. Olderman and R. Carr; Quick-Med Technologies and the University of Florida at Gainesville.

This year's SAWC/WHS conference is being held in San Diego, CA from April 24 - 27.

Dr. Liesenfeld's presentation takes place on Saturday, April 26 from 3:45 - 5:45 p.m. Quick-Med Technologies' posters will be displayed on April 25 and 26 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
